SPECIAL SHOWING: QUEEN OF THE SUN: What are the Bees Telling Us? A profound, alternative look at the global bee crisis. Taking us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive, this engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from aroud the world including Michael Pollan, Gunther Hauk and Vandana Shiva. Together they reveal both the problems and the solutions in renewing a culture in balance with nature.

August - Kirt Ward will be discussing fall/winter preparations. Learn how to help your bees BEFORE the start of cold weather. There is much to do and think about. Kirt is a 20 year beekeeper.
September - Queen Rearing Class speakers. Fifteen members took the Queen Rearing Class. They will be sharing what they learned.
October - John and George Sinanis will introduce NEW breakthrough technology for mite control. MITE ZAPPER is chemical free and 85 - 95% effective in killing Varroa mites.
November - Carmen Conrad of Conrad Hive and Honey will give a presentation on beeswax from start to finish. She was 2007 Ohio Beekeeper of theYear.
December - GCBA holiday potluck party and improv night. Potluck dinner with members sharing their most memorable experiences from the season.
