I am considering buying a 95-97 f250 7.3 diesel. and was wondering what are some things I should look out for?

A lot of these trucks are over 100k and was wondering what all should I look at when considering getting one? Thanks guys sooooo much!

First, pretty much any maintenance or repairs for a diesel engine will cost more than for a gasoline engine. Overall, the 7.3L Power Stroke is a really good engine, especially if properly maintained.

Things to consider are: injectors, fuel pumps, glow plugs, starter, turbo, water pump, alternator(s) and batteries are the primary items that would fail. Clutch (if manual) or automatic transmission would be next on the list. Front suspension components would likely be worn (diesels are very heavy engines), brakes, shocks, u-joints, and the list goes on.

You could find a well maintained vehicle that might not have any problems for a long time, while the next truck you look at might need a complete overhaul. Just remember that parts and labor to repair a diesel truck can cost more than the total price you paid for the truck.
